When a soul is raised from a body which has been entirely lost only the soul is released creating a Creature of Spirit, the process for summoning which is contained in The Scroll of Spirits.

All creatures of spirits are semi-transparent, though to what extent varies, and most give off an eerie blue glow.
Creation[edit source]
Should a mortal die in particularly traumatic circumstances while wanting revenge then their soul will not be able to return to bellow Gaia and will remain trapped in the 4th and 5th dimensions until they have conducted their revenge. Normally, by a cruel twist of fate, they are perfectly incapable of doing so trapped in the 4th and 5th dimensions as they are and so become more and more enraged and powerful.
Æther which is connected to an object that exists in the first 3 dimensions can reform a link between the spirit and the 3-dimensional world. Even then a spirit will be bound to its body and so is only free to seek its vengeance if that body has been lost but if that body is lost the spirit will often be grateful to its summoner and will work with them to get its vengeance and final opportunity to rest.
Abilities[edit source]
Creatures of spirit are made only of Æther in the 4th and 5th dimensions and so can not be struck by any mortal weapon, only other objects of Æther and silver weapons, which have the unique ability to sever the link between the spirit and the first 3 dimensions.
Just as mortal weapons can not deal damage to them they can pass through solid objects but can not remain there for long.
The touch of a spirit is not just cold but it has the ability to drain away your soul and making the wraith yet stronger.
Spirits can not be heard or smelt as they do not exist in the first 3 dimensions.
Spirits can sense people who pass within a meter of them but can also sense if they believe they can kill it, something which renders the spirits incredibly scared and will make it flee even to the 4th and 5th dimensions if it has to.
The spirit will also be temporarily banished to the 4th and 5th dimensions the moment at which it comes in contact with the sun but may return as soon as the sun leaves the spot it was banished from.
